Texas counties with access to mental health public defenders

Only 29 of Texas' 254 counties have access to a mental health public defender or managed assisted counsel program, which links attorneys with mental health experts to provide the best defense possible. Experts say access to this type of defense is crucial in keeping mentally ill people out of jail.
