Among voters who switched parties since 2020, Democrats lost ground

The Democratic Party lost a net total of about 107,000 voters among those who switched their political party from 2020 to 2024, most of whom became Republicans. Republicans gained a net total of more than 112,000. 

2024 voter registration current through Oct. 21.A smaller number of third party supporting or independent voters also switched parties.
