Candidate count surges 200-fold since Independence

Note: UPSC exams are divided into two categories. The civil services category includes 12 examinations: CS(P), CS(M), IFoS(M), ESE, IES, LDCE, CMS, GEOL, CAPF, CISF, SCRA, and SLDE. The defence category includes four examinations: NDA & NA (I), NDA & NA (II), CDS (I), and CDS (II).
