Want to make the big bucks? There is no place better than Finance…at least at the top. That’s the main takeaway from starting base pay stats for the Class of 2020. Not surprisingly, Stanford GSB grads earn the highest pay -- again -- in Finance. Last year’s class grossed $185,014 -- over $22,000 more than runner-up Harvard Business School. How popular are Stanford Finance grads in the marketplace? Their base pay has jumped nearly $27K since 2015 (and over $10K in the past year alone). Columbia Business School and Northwestern Kellogg grads also hovered near the $150K starting salary threshold. Stanford GSB can also crow about individual pay too. One graduate earned $400K to start -- the highest individual paycheck of 2020. Not to be outdone, graduates from Harvard Business School and Columbia Business School made $375K -- tying them with the highest individual pay in Consulting (Harvard Business School). In fact, there are nine business schools which boasted one or more Finance students earning $200K or more to start. And it’s not all the big names, with the list including #18 UCLA Anderson and #31 BYU Marriott. Better still, the Finance category includes four schools with students maxing out at $160K and a dozen more at $150K.
