How Colorado's tax credits affected poverty rates

Colorado’s recent changes to state tax credits to greatly increase direct assistance to low-income families cut childhood poverty rates by more than a third, leading advocates to call the programs among the nation’s most effective. The new Family Affordability Tax Credit and an increase in the state’s match of the Earned Income Tax Credit were among the changes.
