A stacked bar chart showing the employment status of the population aged 25 to 59 in the fourth quarter of 2024. Up to 47% are self-employed, either as freelancers or as business owners with employees – which is more than three times the figure for the native-born population and more than four times that of Latin American and African immigrants. These figures are even higher for the Chinese community, as in their case the number of self-employed workers is almost double that of those in paid employment.
