Prevalence of omicron sublineages among COVID-19 cases

Variant prevalence has continually evolved over time during the COVID-19 pandemic. Early in 2022, the omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 started to take over in the U.S. Week by week, different subvariants from the omicron lineage became more dominant among the genetically sequenced COVID-19 cases in the U.S.

Data for the weeks ending 5/21 and 5/28 are "Nowcast" estimates, modeled projections that may be updated later.
