Question 1: Should section 36(2) of the Constitution Act, 1982, Parliament and the government of Canada’s commitment to the principle of making equalization payments, be removed from the Constitution?
Overall, Calgarians voted yes on the ballot: 58 per cent yes to 42 per cent no. On election day, only Wards 1, 4, 7, 8 and 9 had voting stations that saw less than 50 per cent of voters cast their ballots for yes.
