The Bexar County District Attorney's Office currently has a backlog of more than 6,000 cases.

Felony backlog cases: 2019, 3,307 cases; 2022, 645 cases; 2023, 1,148 cases; 2024, 1,645 cases; 2025, 2,183 cases. Misdemeanor backlog cases: 2019, 3,204 cases; 2022, 2,761 cases; 2023, 1,161 cases; 2024, 2,504 cases; 2025 - 3,994

Numbers for 2020 and 2021 were not available, according to the District Attorney's office. Misdemeanor numbers include a percentage of cases that have cleared the office, but remain on court dockets.
