Rate of rent-stabilized vacancies are on the rise after COVID spike

The percentage of vacant rent-stabilized apartments reported to the state spiked on April 1, 2021, and is again on the rise outside Manhattan.

Each data point represents the number of vacant, rent-stabilized units reported as a percentage of the total reported. This data reflects registrations property owners submitted to the state for April 1 of each year and does not include the reasons for vacancies.
