¹ Where two different periods are specified, the first applies to regulated parliamentarians and the second to regulated public servants/staffers ( NB in Vic and SA, the same period applies to relevant public servants/staffers and parliamentary secretaries. NSW period currently applies only to certain parliamentarians: Gov has committed to broadening it.

² In NSW, Qld and WA penalties include deregistration and fines (and, in NSW, inclusion on the Lobbyists Watch List). SA has criminal sanctions.
