Average number of youth at Marion County Juvenile Detention Center, 2014-2021

Marion County, where Indianapolis is located, committed to the federal Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative to lock up fewer children. The number of youth detained at the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center has been decreasing since 2016. In 2021, about 37 youth on average were held daily at the Juvenile Detention Center.
