Oklahoma and the federal government share the costs of Medicaid — roughly 60% federal and 40% state over the last decade. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Oklahoma received an enhanced FMAP, reaching over 74% in 2021 and 2022 before returning to pre-pandemic levels.
