Republicans changed on immigration, not Democrats

When asked whether they support either putting undocumented migrants on a path to legal status (dotted lines) or deporting them (thick lines), Democrats have consistently favored legalization. Until 2021, Republicans did too, though by a smaller margin. But since 2021, Republicans have increasingly favored deportation.
