Good Government Lincoln accepted vs. rejected signatures

The Lancaster County Election Commission reviewed an initial set of more than 30,000 signatures for the Lincoln-focused campaign seeking to reshape city elections. Of those signatures, election officials rejected more than 65% for a variety of reasons. Signatures flagged as possibly fraudulent were referred to law enforcement and have, as of Aug. 19, 2026, led to six arrests of out-of-state petition circulators.

Supporters restarted signature gathering and turned in a second set of signatures Aug. 19, 2026. A petition must have at least 4,981 valid signatures to qualify for the Nov. 3 ballot.
