REALIGNMENT SENDS MORE PEOPLE TO PROBATION THAN TO JAIL

Much of the debate over realignment has focused on its impact in California’s county jails. However, Proposition 47 in 2015 significantly decreased the number of realignment offenders in jails while probation departments’ caseloads have increased slightly.
