AA Degree-Seeking Students’ Perceptions Regarding Attainment of Natural Sciences Discipline-Level Competencies
This grouped bar chart displays AA degree-seeking students' perceptions of their attainment of Natural Sciences discipline-level competencies across three outcomes (NS-1 through NS-3) for academic years 2022-23 and 2023-24, measured on a 5-point scale where 5 = very much and 1 = none.
Student perceptions remain consistently high across both years and all three competencies, ranging from 4.12 to 4.32 on the 5-point scale. All three outcomes show improvement from 2022-23 to 2023-24: NS-1 increases from 4.12 to 4.18, NS-2 rises from 4.13 to 4.20, and NS-3 demonstrates the largest gain from 4.14 to 4.32. NS-3 shows the strongest student confidence in 2023-24 at 4.32, while NS-2 exhibits the highest year-over-year improvement of 0.07 points. The consistent upward trajectory across all outcomes suggests strengthening student confidence in achieving Natural Sciences competencies. This measure was discontinued in 2024-25 due to the college's transition to new survey software.
