Food stamp use by state

New Mexico and Oregon have the highest rates of food stamp use by state as of May 2025, according to a Stateline analysis, while Wyoming and Utah have the lowest. Use of the safety net program has grown since May 2024 in 18 states and the District of Columbia though cuts are looming in January.
