Chicago Public Schools Enrollment

CPS has seen a steady decline in student enrollment in the last five years. Declines are due primarily to falling Hispanic births and Black families leaving Chicago. Based on current trends, some independent analysts project Chicago Public Schools could lose another 44,000 K-12 students by 2025.

Does not include data for the following categories Asian/Pacific Islander, Native American/Alaskan, Multi-racial, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander and not available because each category was less than 2% of total enrollment.
