Taxes make up the largest share of city revenue
The city’s 2022-23 budget was $1.45 billion, and its biggest revenue source was taxes. Taxes are a large part of the budget, no matter the state of the economy. Types of taxes include property, sales, business operating, utilities and transient occupancy tax.
