Two offshore wind areas leased

Two offshore wind areas were provisionally leased Wednesday in an auction held by the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management. An area east of Ocean City — about 26 nautical miles from the mouth of the Delaware Bay, has been leased to a Norwegian energy company Equinor for $75 million. The other area, east of Norfolk, Virginia, was sold to Virginia Electric and Power Co. for $17.6 million.
