Private school applicants are at a big disadvantage in UC San Diego admissions

The overall admission rate for private school applicants is much lower than for public school applicants. The bonus for applying from a school with few other applicants is also much lower.

Only California private schools with at least three admits in each of 2022-24 are shown. Bay Area is the six county Bay Area. South Coast is Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego. The border between NorCal and SoCal is the northern border of San Luis Obispo, Kern, and San Bernardino Counties.
