As New Jersey faces a spotted lanternfly invasion, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture is making nearly $5 million in reimbursement funds available to municipalities and counties to fight swarms. As of July 27, 2023, 146 towns and five counties have applied for about $2.44 million. This is the first time New Jersey municipalities can apply for these reimbursement funds based on the availability of grant money, a NJDA spokesperson said.
