Minnesota's nonwhite population is driving growth

Although the vast majority of Minnesotans are white, according to the 2020 Census report just released, the white non-Hispanic population dropped from 4.4 million to 4.35 million since 2010; while all non-white populations rose, in some cases dramatically.

Note: The U.S. Census Bureau changed the wording on race and ethnicity questions in 2020 and how they processed the responses, which might account for some changes. Pacific Islander and 'other' categories not included.
