U.S. Visa Services in Africa: What's Changing Aug. 1, 2026

The Trump administration is ending routine U.S. visa services at 25 diplomatic posts across Africa. This chart shows which locations are losing services and where applicants will now go for routine visa interviews.

The changes affect routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services only. U.S. citizen services, emergency consular assistance and other embassy operations will continue at all affected diplomatic posts. Applicants should check the website of their designated regional visa hub for appointment availability and application instructions.
