Want to start fast in Operations and Production? Wharton and Stanford GSB are your best bets. At each school, 2019 grads started out at $140K (though only 3 GSB grads chose Operations compared to 13 at Wharton). Yale SOM, MIT Sloan, and North Carolina Kenan-Flagler MBAs also pulled in more than $130K bases in 2019. That was over $10K more than highly-regarded public programs like Michigan Ross and Berkeley Haas. Wharton’s Operations program is certainly ascending. Here, grads have increased base pay by over $29K since 2015. Still, that doesn’t match grads from Kenan-Flagler ($34,347) and USC Marshall ($35,327). Still, you won’t find big paydays in Operations. Just Wharton graduated a student who made $200K in the field, with only three schools meeting or besting the $175K mark (including a Washington Foster grad who came in at $190K).
