Historic Merrywood gets demolition delay

The Winter Park mansion got a reprieve from demolition while city commissioners work to allow splitting the 3.67-acre property into two 1.5-acre lots. Otherwise, someone could buy the entire property and build a house that dwarfs the 40,000-square-foot mansion down the street — the city's largest.
