Fundraising by committees surrounding California's Billionaire Tax Initiative

Committees supporting and opposing three potential ballot initiatives related to a billionaire wealth tax have raised a combined $123.7 million. Opposition totals include committees registered to oppose the Billionaire Tax Initiative as well as committees registered to support competing initiatives to block it from taking effect.

Service Employees International Union-United Healthcare Workers West directed $30.68 million to its Save California Health Care and Public Education committee. Opposition committees Golden State Promise, Stop the Squeeze and Californians Against Tax Increases received $10.5 million. Building a Better California directed $82.55 million to its two committees supporting competing initiatives: Californians to Protect Retirement and Life Savings and Californians for a More Transparent and Effective Government.
