Where SUVs and Pickups Kill the Most Pedestrians and Cyclists
Figures combine SUVs and pickup trucks into a single category. Deaths include pedestrians, cyclists, and other people outside a vehicle who were struck and killed by an SUV or pickup. Rates are per 100,000 residents based on 2024 population. Share of state's non-occupant deaths is the percentage of all deaths of people outside a vehicle in that state where the striking vehicle was an SUV or pickup.
