Georgia's Level I trauma centers
There are currently four Level I trauma centers in the state. Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville has applied to become the state's fifth. Outside of Georgia, the nearest centers are Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn., and UF Health in Jacksonville, Fla.
