Having suffered a much larger job loss in the spring of 2020, New York is well behind the nation in recovering to pre-pandemic employment levels.
As of June 2022, New York had regained three-quarters of its total post-pandemic job loss, while private employment in the nation as a whole was back above the pre-pandemic peak.
