Dwindling Releases, Skyrocketing Removals

At the start of President Donald Trump’s term in January, 51% of individuals ICE detained that month were removed from the country within 60 days of book-in while 11% were released. By last August, 68% of newly-detained individuals had been removed within two months while fewer than 2% of such detainees had been released.
