This chart shows the total number of individuals enrolled in Medi-Cal by eligibility group: Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI), non-MAGI, and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). "
Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) Medi-Cal includes people whose eligibility is based on income. Non-MAGI Medi-Cal includes individuals whose eligibility is based on other criteria, such as seniors and people with disabilities. The Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provides coverage for children in families with incomes too high for Medi-Cal but too low to afford private insurance. "Other" includes individuals enrolled in limited-scope Medi-Cal or state-only funded programs for specific groups, such as undocumented Californians.
