College Enrollment by Race and Ethnicity

The share of Black students among U.S. college enrollees grew since the 1990s, but has dropped since 2012, according to federal government statistics.

"Two or more races" was added as a category in 2010. Figures from 1976 to 2010 include the category of "nonresident alien," members of whom could be of any race or ethnicity.
