Some countries, like many in Western Europe, were ready to fight disease and transition to a digital economy. Others, including the U.S., Australia and Canada, were less ready to fight disease but well-prepared digitally. Countries like Italy, India and South Africa were ready to fight the pandemic but not ready for a digital economy. Still others, including Turkey, Ireland, Japan and Mexico, were poorly prepared for a pandemic and not ready for a digital economy either.
