Florida hospitals are filling up as COVID-19 spreads.

The number of people hospitalized, for any reason, steadily increased from April through June. But there is still room, and individual hospitals can scale up capacity quickly.

Data reflects bed census and total staffed bed capacity in Florida hospitals. Tampa Bay includes Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties. Brief, atypical spikes on April 10 and May 22 were removed. The Times did not collect data from June 18 through June 25.
