Households across Missouri receive SNAP benefits

More than 324,000 households in Missouri benefit from the SNAP program, according to the Missouri Budget Project. Every SNAP dollar spent locally generates an estimated $1.57 in economic growth. In 2023, almost $1.5 billion of redeemed SNAP benefits resulted in an additional $2.3 billion circulating in Missouri communities. In Boone County, 6.8% of all households, or 14,748 people, get SNAP benefits. The estimated annual impact here was more than $53.9 million.
