Only three of Michigan's 83 counties voted against a referendum that would prohibit the use of public funds to pay for abortions for public assistance recipients (unless necessary to save the life of the mother) in the November 1988 election.
NOTE: The map is colored to show the anti-abortion-rights vote as red and the pro-abortion-rights vote as green. Due to phrasing, a "no" vote supports public funds for abortions, while a "yes" vote opposes it.
