Highest numbers receiving Department of Defense Tuition Assistance program benefits

Only degree-granting two- and four-year institutions in the United States that are eligible to participate in federal Title IV student-aid programs are included. Department of Defense Tuition Assistance is available to eligible members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard who are on active duty or reserve status. Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits are available to eligible service members and veterans who have been on active duty for at least 90 days on or after September 11, 2001, and to their qualified family members; and to certain other veterans. Benefits are tiered based on length of service.
