A very close race in 2022

Republican John Duarte of Hughson narrowly defeated Democrat Adam Gray in the November 2022 election for California's 13th Congressional District – the nation's second closest race last fall for the House of Representatives.

Gray is running to challenge Duarte in 2024, one of several would-be candidates to state their intention to run in the March 5 primary. The top two vote-getters, regardless of party, will advance to the general election in November 2024.
