Canada's total burned forest area in adjusted hectares

According to experts, wildfires in Canada are becoming larger, more intense and burning for longer periods of time because of the effects of climate change. A noticeable uptick in area burned seems to have started about 15 years ago. 

While the database used for this graph primarily tracks wildfires, this data might also include areas burned through other means.
