Maryland abortion clinics have seen an influx in patients from states with abortion bans since 2019, the last year with available data before Roe v. Wade was overturned. Maryland providers saw patients from five neighboring states in 2019, with most coming from D.C. and Virginia. In 2023, the first full year since the Dobbs decision was overturned, hundreds of patients came from as far as Texas and Louisiana to access reproductive health care.
