Note: As of July 1, 2021, over 28 percent of inhabitants in Yamagata Prefecture in northern Japan have received the first dose of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination, the highest vaccination rate among all 47 prefectures in Japan. Wakayama Prefecture in southern central Japan recorded the highest ratio for the second dose at around 15 percent.
