Indiana's school choice trends, 2018-2024

This graph shows the number of students using different types of school choice to attend a school other than the district they reside in. It includes the total students using all public options and each of those options: another traditional district, a charter and other.

Indiana classifies public choice as a student attending a school district that is outside the boundaries of the district they live in, a charter school, or other reasons. Other transfers include things like student placements by courts, child welfare agencies, or other administrative transfers.
