Projected municipal water needs by county in 2070

By 2070, several counties in Central Texas are projected to require significantly more municipal water.

If a county has a value of 1: They are projected to have a water need of around 1,000-25,000 acre-feet per year. If they have a value of 2: they are projected to have a water need of 25,000-100,000 acre-feet. If they have a value of 3, they are projected to need more than 100,000 acre-feet. This data is taken from the Texas Water Development Board 2022 State Water Plan. Note: This map does not reflect the demands of the updated projected population that was presented at City Council.
