Western Australian gas prices: shooting up in the 20s ($/GJ)

Since 2020 Woodside and Santos have upped their gas prices 96% and 68% respectively

After prices dropped from 2016 to lows in about 2019, the wholesale price to purchase gas in Western Australia has risen every year to 2024 - the latest data available. Now, buyers are paying an average of about seven Australian dollars a gigajoule.

WA Dept of Mining, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE) combines published prices from Woodside and Santos with data from royalty collections, mainly the North West Shelf. Other suppliers do not disclose their prices.
