Over the first week of August 2025, the number of Manhattan apartment and townhouse contract signings increased 23% with 216 deals totaling just nearly $560 million in potential sales if all units close at their asking prices. This was a significant 79% surge week-over-week, largely due to a likely record-breaking deal at 140 Jane Street on the West Village waterfront. The median asking price rose 11% to $1.325 million, while the average time on market fell to about seven weeks.
