Following spring elections, the African National Congress (ANC) lost its parliamentary majority and has entered into a governing coalition with former opposition party Democratic Alliance (DA) and some smaller groupings. Additional parties that secured a double-digit number of seats in parliament include uMkhonto weSizwe (M.K.), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP).
