These NYC Classrooms Rely On Windows For Ventilation

This map shows the proportion of "operational" classrooms at city schools that get fresh air only from windows, rather than from HVAC or other ventilation methods such as exhaust fans.

The New York City Department of Education has cleared these rooms for in-person learning even though their ventilation infrastructure falls below federal and industry recommendations.
