It pays to be a generalist…well, at least at Stanford GSB. Here, General Managers collected $153,900 to start, beating runner-up Berkeley Haas by a whopping $14K (and HBS by over $25K). Wharton ($136K) and Dartmouth Tuck ($134K) also exceeded $130K starting bases for its 2019 MBAs. The biggest surprise? Think Notre Dame Mendoza and Washington Foster. Their MBAs both started out at over $126K. Stanford GSB also experienced the biggest pay increases in General Management. Since 2015, GSB MBAs posted $30,857 increases on average. Compare that to HBS, where the number is just $9,922. Dartmouth Tuck bases have also risen by over $20K over that time period. That said, Columbia Business School holds bragging rights for highest individual base at $263K.
